The Last '0 to Go

The last of the clan finally did it; with her head already ahead of her actual physical presence at Georgetown, my little sister graduated from high school last weekend in the middle of the rainiest June I think we've ever experienced.

Funnily enough, rain seems to be in the family. When I graduated from RHS six years ago, my ceremony was the first RHS ceremony to be forced out of the stadium and into the gymnasium due to rain in 30-some-odd years, ruining a running streak that our principal had always made a point to announce at each commencement ceremony. I managed to twist what seemed to be a mar on the class of 2003 into my Salutatorian speech to my peers celebrating the power of rain and how we were going to take the world by storm. Cheesetastic, yes. But then, that's me - a cheeseball.

Anyway, for Mimi's class the rain held out until the final fifteen minutes or so, allowing the class to graduate in the stadium. But for my parents, they somehow are 2/3 for attending rainy graduations at a school with an otherwise high success rate for sunny ones.
Here are some photos I took of, in Mimi's own words, the last '0 to go (being that they are the class of '09, RHS's final single-digit class of the 21st century). Congrats to all graduates, and best of luck at college and beyond!
